
Urquiola, Patricia
Patricia Urquiola was born in Oviedo Spain in 1961. She studied architecture at Madrid Polytechnic and the Politecnico di Milano University, where she graduated in 1989 after completing her thesis with Achille Castiglioni. Patricia Urquiola served as an assistant lecturer to both Achille Castiglioni and Eugenio Bettinelli at the Politecnico di Milano University and E.N.S.C.I. in Paris before going on to the architectural firm de Renzio and Ramerino. There, she specialized in the architectural design of showrooms, restaurants, and franchising. Patricia Urquiola became head of the Lissoni Associati design group in 1996, working on projects for Antares, Flos, Cappellini, Cassina and others. Patricia Urquiola opened her own studio in 2001, specializing in product design, architecture, installations, and concept creation.
