Giorgio Marianelli was born in Castiglioncello, in the Italian province of Livorno, in 1939. He studied Architecture at the famous Milan Polytechnic, then applied his skills specifically to residential planning. In 1968, the phenomenon of design attracted him to Milan, where he worked at the Olivetti design studio. During this period he designed a showroom in New York and the Italian Cinema Pavillion at Venices Biennale. Giorgio Marianelli then opened his own practice in Milan, focussing on design and interior design but also on graphics and corporate image for Italian and international companies. Giorgio Marianelli co-operated as designer with some of the sectors best known brands, including Rexite Guzzini, Tronconi, Foppa Pedretti, Zucchetti Rubinetterie and many of his designs have won important international prizes.
